I want to get a new email account. How can I do it?

First decide on what you would like as a new email address (it will be appended by @webjogger.net). Then choose a password for your new email address. Once you have decided on an email address and password, call Webjogger and let them know that you would like to set up a new email address. You will then need to configure the new email address on your computer. To learn more about configuring your email client please click here.

Can I check my email from a different computer or when I am not at home?

Yes, Webjogger offers you the possibility to check your email remotely from anywhere in the world as long as you have a connection to the Internet. To check your email remotely:

  • Go to the Webjogger portal page portal.webjogger.net and click on the Webmail link. This will take you to the webmail interface (http://mail.webjogger.net:8383)
  • Type your email account name and password and click on Login.
  • You will now have access to your email box on the server. Here you can send, receive, and forward emails and do most of the email tasks that you usually do in your email client program.
Please note that you will be accessing your email on the server. Any email messages that have been downloaded using an email client program (i.e. Outlook Express or Netscape) will not appear here.

I recently installed an Antivirus program and since then I cannot send or receive email. Is there anything that Webjogger has to change?

No. Antivirus programs often change the settings on your local computer. To rectify this, do the following:

  • Open Outlook Express, click on the Tools pull down menu and select Accounts.
  • Click on the Mail tab, select your email account from the list, and then click Properties button.
  • Select the Servers tab.
  • Make sure that the incoming and outgoing mail servers are both set to mail.webjogger.net.
  • Make sure your Account Name is only what appears before the @ symbol on your email address (e.g jsmith). Delete “mail.webjogger.net” if it appears appended after your account name.
  • If after trying this solution you still have problems, please visit the Norton Antivirus or McAfee Antivirus websites for a solution to this problem. Or contact Customer Service for your antivirus program.

I am getting an awful amount of junk email. Do you have a way to block it?

Your Webjogger.net email address has anti-spam and anti-virus enabled by default. If you are getting junk email, your anti-spam filter probably needs some tweaking. Click here for instructions on how to modify the settings and administer your anti-spam service.

Why can’t I open any of the attachments that other people send me?

Your Outlook Express email client has enabled extra security settings that block any access to attachments. To disable this setting:

  • Open Outlook Express, click on the Tools pull down menu and select Options from the list.
  • Select the Security tab and uncheck the “Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that potentially be a virus” box.
  • Click OK.
Disabling this option will not affect the security in your computer. This option does very little to actually stop viruses from entering your computer. In any case, all your Webjogger incoming and outgoing email will be scanned for viruses by Webjogger's server side AntiVirus Protection System.
